The client
An established consultancy facing a changing market
Gaea was a technical services consultancy operating across Ireland with around ten employees. After nine years in business, growth had begun to taper off and the traditional routes to new work were becoming less reliable.
The challenge
A static website and no dependable digital route to growth
Third-party disruption had reduced the volume of work available through familiar channels. The website was static, had not been optimised for search and was not supported by social activity. The business needed more customers, but simply copying competitors would not create a lasting advantage.
What we found
The best opportunity was not where everyone else was competing
Market analysis showed that most competitors were responding to disruption in the same way. Silverback identified a more valuable niche based on the evidence—one the competition had not adopted and Gaea could credibly own.
That insight changed the question from “How do we compete harder?” to “Where can this business become the obvious choice?”
What Silverback did
The strategy connected early demand capture, search visibility and conversion into one clear customer journey.
01 · Find demand earlier
A search-led acquisition strategy
High-intent search terms helped reach prospective customers at the right point in their buying journey—before third parties could intercept the opportunity.
02 · Build the foundation
SEO and a more persuasive website
The site was revised to improve on-page and technical SEO. Authority was strengthened over time through off-page SEO, while behavioural insight made the sales journey clearer and easier to act on.
03 · Bridge the time gap
Paid search while organic visibility grew
Because SEO takes time, Silverback managed a pay-per-click campaign during the first six months. This created immediate visibility while the longer-term organic strategy gained traction.

Further growth
and expansion into new markets
In the client’s words
“Personally, I had never bought into the idea of digital marketing. We had used a few different agencies in the past, but for whatever reason we always ended up losing faith and trust. Silverback’s approach was very down to earth and sounded like common sense to us. We now feel like we have a bit more freedom and our future is back in our hands again.”
What happened next
The work created room for the business to think bigger
Gaea expanded further and entered new markets. Silverback was asked to support those plans and is proud to continue working with the business today.
The value was not simply a short-term campaign result. It was a clearer market position, a more dependable source of demand and greater confidence about what to do next.
